Ruth Annette – Senior Tutor / Mentor
Ruth has put a smile on the face of more collectors worldwide than any other artist. Her large purpose built “Precious Dreams” Studio has not only seen the birth of over 5000 of her own creations, but has nurtured many other (now highly successful) artists who apprenticed with Ruth.
Ruth began her early doll making career using gouache paints before there was such a thing as a reborn doll kit. She was one of the early founders of “Simply Reborn” who pioneered teaching the art of reborn and baby doll making, the very first doll makers academy over 20 years ago. She has experience across all painting mediums including gouache, acrylic (air dry), heat set and (more recently) silicone.
Since then, Ruth has seen success not only as a reborn artist, but also as a sculptor with a style that is distinctively cute, applying the science of “Baby Schema” to her iconic creations. Many of her creations are kept as unique one of a kind art pieces, however Ruth produced some of the earliest vinyl doll kits from her own adorable sculpts as well as producing the work of other sculptors into vinyl.
